Anti-vaccines protest in Washington
Protesters from across the country gathered this Sunday, January 23, for a demonstration against vaccination orders in Washington DC.
The pandemic has been latent for approximately two years; During this time, 860,000 Americans have died from Covid-19, despite this, there is a part of the probation that denies the placement of the vaccine.
In this sense, the concentration organized on the National Mall showed a large group of anti-vaccine people, who did not use face masks. They were in charge of contradicting the inoculation orders of the city that has welcomed the requests to use masks and vaccines, to manage diseases and deaths from the new omicron variant.
The coordinators had calculated that exactly 20,000 people would attend this demonstration.
They organized a walk from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial, as directed by a grant from the National Park Service.
On Sunday morning, a smaller group of two or three thousand people had shown up on the National Mall.
On the posters they showed phrases with false information, which attracted a lot of attention. Some of them were “Trump won” and “Vaccines are biological weapons to kill en masse”.
About 10 police officers were present at the event. They were lined up on the rally route and vehicles were parked nearby.
Vaccine
The booster dose offers strong protection against obtaining the omicron variation of COVID-19.
This could be seen in three reports delivered on Friday in the United States by the Disease Prevention (CDC) and the Centers for Control.
For more than a year, authorities and specialists across the country have urged Americans to check for antibodies and protect themselves from COVID-19. However, there are anti-vaccine movements that are against these results.
In the reports presented, it can be seen that the vaccines will keep citizens out of danger.
In the United States, approximately 210.2 million individuals are fully immunized. This is equivalent to 63.3% of the population. 83.6 million people have received the booster vaccine.
Most of the nation is fully immunized in just over a year. More than a million doses a day are applied in the United States.
