It was a very close game during the 90 minutes, Sergio Agüero scored a great goal in the 12th minute, after taking advantage of a quick kick from a Messi foul. The victory was outlined more accurately when Paulo Dybala made his debut as a scorer in a Copa América, ten minutes later, and Argentina headed more safely to victory, but the expulsion of Messi and Medel, for an exchange of shoves after a cleared ball to the band by the Chilean, in the 37th minute, left both teams with ten men.

After the double expulsion, the game continued with various goal expectations after halftime. Chile managed to reduce the score with a penalty goal by Arturo Vidal in the 59th minute, but did not have many more chances to reach extra time.

With this result, Argentina achieved a lower prize, although its captain will have to face at least two sanction dates.

It should be noted that this is the second time that Lionel Messi has been sent off in his professional career, out of a total of 687 games with Barcelona and 136 with Argentina. Both expulsions were when he was wearing the albiceleste shirt.
