Bridge falls in Taiwan

This morning a bridge in Taiwan collapsed, and an oil truck fell along with it. The truck that was circulating at the time of the collapse fell on some boats, leaving some injured. So far the exact causes of why the 140-meter-long bridge collapsed are not known, but it is presumed that it could have been because a typhoon weakened the pillars.

Presumably so far the accident has injured 10 people not to mention that some more people are trapped in what would be a fishing boat. The aid services are already working, in the place there are approximately 60 military and naval personnel. According to Minister Hsu Kuo-yung, there were also some people on the bridge, so the concern has increased.

According to CNA, Tsai Ing-wen declared that they are already working to save the lives of all people since 6 of the 10 injured are in serious condition, so she asks that the authorities are already working to the welfare of the injured. An air force helicopter also arrived at the site.

Some injured are also presumed to be from the Philippines and Indonesia. Since, according to the residents, it is not uncommon for the fishing boats to have workers from those places because the salary they have to pay them is lower.
