Car exploded near headquarters of pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine
This Friday, a car that was in the vicinity of the government headquarters of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (pro-Russian separatist group) exploded, the event occurred in the center of the city that bears the same name in Ukraine.
Through their Telegram account, spokesmen for the Donetsk People's Militia Directorate reported the event, whose explosion was heard throughout the city at 7:00 p.m. ( Russian time).
Although so far there are no reports of victims, the separatists asked the community to "be alert, remain calm and also avoid moving around the city as much as possible."
Minutes after the explosion, Denís Pushilin, leader of the Donetsk People's Republic, indicated on a television network that the attack was carried out on a car belonging to the head of the People's Militia and he was unharmed.
Similarly, he ruled that "yes, this type of sabotage is one of the signs of preparation for an offensive", raising the spirits in the conflict in Ukraine.
Evacuation of inhabitants
A few days ago Pushilin had announced that an evacuation of the inhabitants of Donetsk would begin on February 18, since according to the information they had, the Ukrainian government was planning an offensive against them.
For his part, the Ukrainian Defense Minister, Alexei Reznikov, rejected the accusations and emphasized that the government is doing everything possible for a peaceful solution to the conflict that dates back to 2014 and that according to the United Nations (UN) It has left more than 14 thousand dead to date.
The response of the United States and Ukraine
Before the signals of the separatist group, the reactions were immediate. Spokesmen for the United States and Ukraine say that what happened at the government headquarters of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic is due to a maneuver to revive tension there.
In this way they deny that it was an attack orchestrated from Kiev, if not, on the contrary, a self-attack by the pro-Russian movement.
