After the painful moment lived in the 94th edition of the Oscar Awards, where the actor Will Smith slapped the comedian Chris Rock, for having made a joke about his wife's appearance, the presenter would now be capitalizing on said incident.

And it is that the comedian is promoting his "Ego Death World Tour 2022" whose tickets have sold out and increased in value significantly in recent days.

According to TickPick, the company in charge of marketing the tickets, sales increased on the same night of Sunday -March 27-, when the Academy Awards ceremony was held.

They also went so far as to indicate that they even sold more tickets to see Chris Rock on Sunday night than during the whole of last month.

The cheapest ticket to see the comedian's stand-up went from $46 (until March 18) to $341 (March 28), this apparently to hear firsthand what Rock has to say in relation to what happened.

Reactions of those involved

On Monday -March 28-, one day after what happened at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Smith published a statement through his Instagram account where he expressed that violence becomes "destructive and poisonous" in all its forms. In addition, he acknowledged that his behavior was unacceptable and disproportionate.

The “King Richard” interpreter stated that while jokes about him are part of the job, a joke about his wife Jada's medical condition was too much and he reacted emotionally.

Smith also apologized to Rock, the Academy, the Williams family and members of the production of the film, for which he was nominated and which earned him the "Best Actor" award.

For his part, the comedian has not yet made public statements about it, which has generated more interest in his show. However, Rock returned to the stage for a new performance where, according to CNN's Chloe Melas, he received a warm welcome and expressed that, "Let me be all mysterious and f**k."

Also, during the presentation he would have said that, “I had a full program planned before this weekend. I'm still processing what happened, so at some point I'll talk about that sh*t $3 (...) It will be serious, it will be funny, but right now I'm going to tell some jokes.

The comedian already has 38 confirmed dates across the United States, and will be performing in Australia and New Zealand.
