Conversation between Xi Jinping and Putin to request negotiation
Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin

This Friday the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, chairman of the Central Military Commission, Xi Jinping, had a call with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

Both discussed a possible democratic solution to the conflict that had begun, according to the Chinese state agency Xinhua.

Putin was briefing Jinping on the historical longitude and latitude of the present problem with Ukraine, all the information on the Russian military operations.

The Russian president insisted that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the United States have long evaded Russia's important security concerns, which is in breach of its commitment.

He also assured that Russia is ready to hold high-level negotiations with Ukraine. In this way, he would be coinciding with the opinion of Xi, who seeks solutions to the crisis through negotiation.

The president notified that his country is fully willing to work with the parts of the international community. This would be in support of the security and protection of the international system.

He also indicated that he maintains his position on something as simple as respect for the territorial integrity of all countries and for sovereignty.

The Chinese state agency notified that the president requests that the Cold War mentality be abandoned and that the legitimate security concerns of countries be given importance and respect.

Likewise, he indicated that balanced mechanisms of a European mechanism must be formed, which is sustainable and effective through negotiations.

For now, China has not openly criticized the invasion carried out on Ukrainian territory by the government of Vladimir Putin. Nor has it made public any kind of demonstration of solidarity with Ukraine.
