Governments care about the well-being of their citizens who are in Ukraine

On February 11 in the United Kingdom, the Foreign Office asked its nationals to leave Ukraine “immediately”. It also did so with other countries such as South Korea, the United States, the Netherlands, Israel or Germany.

In the midst of the great crisis that Eastern Europe is experiencing, specifically in the Ukrainian territory due to the more than 130,000 Russian soldiers deployed along the border, many countries have notified their citizens to leave the country in the face of an imminent invasion by Russia.

These are the countries that have made the evacuation request

United Kingdom

Through a statement, the UK authorities announced to their citizens that it is best to leave Ukraine, while there are possibilities of doing so by commercial flights.

A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry assured that, for the United Kingdom, the safety of its citizens is the priority, for that reason they issued the evacuation order from the Ukrainian territory.

USA

On January 24, the US government ordered the relatives of diplomats in Ukraine to evacuate the country, due to the great threat posed by Russian soldiers and an imminent Russian operation in Ukraine.

At the time, the State Department advised US residents in Ukraine that they "should consider" leaving the country.

Days later, on February 11, the United States issued an alarm call, asking its nationals to leave the country within a maximum of 48 hours.

South Korea

South Korea issued a ban on flights to all regions of Ukraine and urged its citizens residing in the country to leave the territory "immediately".

Australia

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has issued an order to leave all officials at his embassy in Ukraine, following a surge of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border.

Netherlands

The country's ambassador in Kiev, Jennes de Mol, announced that its citizens must leave Ukraine as soon as possible to preserve their integrity and security.

Belgium

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after various leaders and representatives advised Belgians to leave Ukraine, officially announced that all Belgian citizens must leave the country as long as their presence there is not "extremely necessary".”

In addition, they advised avoiding trips to Ukraine for safety reasons.

European Union

The European Union has placed no impediments to its non-essential diplomats from leaving Ukraine if they so wish.

They assured that they would be given the opportunity to telecommute from another country, according to Peter Stano, spokesman for Foreign Affairs of the European Union.

Germany

On February 12, the Foreign Ministry issued a series of recommendations to its citizens, including the abandonment of Ukraine for Germans, "whose presence is not imperative."

In total, there have been more than 15 countries that have decided to urge their citizens and staff in Ukraine to leave the territory as soon as possible, due to a war between Russia and Ukraine.

Denmark, Greece, Spain, Italy, Norway and Iran have also bowed to calls to leave Ukraine for their citizens.

Last Sunday, February 13, the Ukrainian government assured that the air territory would remain open. Despite this, the Dutch airline KLM has suspended all flights and connections over Ukraine.

With Russia on the outskirts of Ukraine with more than 130,000 soldiers, the United States and countries around the world have assured that Russia's attack can come from any front and without prior notice.
