Cuba extends internet access
When tourists visit Cuba they look for the comforts to which they are usually accustomed, however this beautiful country in some places does not have Wi- Fi service, which for some people are essential.
Citizens affirm that they have lost business and potential clients just because they do not have this service. But that is about to change because recently the government announced that strategies are being put into effect that could allow regulating and expand internet access.
Among them is the possibility of creating private networks in homes and businesses, without the government losing its monopoly on it.
Cuba has lagged behind since 1990 in terms of internet access, as it is also expensive and extremely limited as the government fears that having too much internet access could have negative consequences, however it has recognized that it is crucial for its economy.
This would favor in many ways mainly in the tourism sector, since cafés, restaurants, houses and some other businesses could begin to offer it by attracting more people.
