Philippine's authorities do not rule out more victims to be found

The first earthquake killed five people, subsequent aftershocks, especially the first aftershock that was even stronger than the initial movement, caused 3 more deaths. The people of the Philippines are still shocked as they try to get on with their lives, nervous about the possibility of further aftershocks.

Filipinos remember recent earthquakes such as the 6.9 magnitude in December 2018, where several roads were even opened and a Tsunami alert was originated that caused alarm and nervousness in the population for several days. In April, they had another 6.3 earthquake that left many landslides, deaths and injuries. For now, after the second reply, no new alarms have been generated.

The seismic and volcanic activity is constant in the Philippines, and it is estimated that each year more than 6000 movements are generated in its subsoil, but most of these movements are imperceptible.
