Last Saturday -March 26- there was a "terrorist attack" in the Immediate Attention Command (CAI), located in the Arborizadora Alta neighborhood, in the south of Bogotá, Colombia.

The explosion has so far left 35 people injured and two minors dead. In addition, structural damage to the police station affected 66 homes and four schools, where the windows mainly broke due to the blast wave.

In addition to the CAI, 66 homes and four schools were affected by the explosion.

This Monday it was announced that the 33rd Front of the FARC dissidents, headed by "John Mechas" claimed responsibility for the attack committed against the police station. This front operates in Catatumbo, right on the border with Venezuela.

According to a video published in local Colombian media, a dissident guerrilla refers to the activities they carry out in the Middle Magdaleno territory, including the "activation of an explosive charge in Ciudad Bolívar, against the CAI of the Police".

They also point out that it was done in order to commemorate the death of former guerrilla commander "Tirofijo", who was killed in 2008.

The 33rd Front is also responsible for the attack committed against the helicopter in which the president of Colombia, Iván Duque, was traveling and which was to land in Cúcuta on June 25.

In this sense, the president of the New Granada country would have announced that the Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Defense of Colombia would be offering a reward of 300 million pesos (about 80 thousand dollars) to find those responsible for the attack.

Guerrilla fighter "Jhon Mechas" is requested by the FBI

The director of the Colombian Police, General Jorge Luis Vargas, reported that they are working together with the Federal Investigation Agency ( FBI ) to find the whereabouts of the leader of the 33rd Front, "Jhon Mechas".

In this regard, he mentioned that the United States is offering five million dollars, while Colombia does the same with almost 800 thousand dollars, which is equivalent to 3,000 million Colombian pesos.

"Jhon Mechas" would have control of the Colombian border with the Zulia state in Venezuela, from where he coordinates armed and drug trafficking actions.

Daniel Steven Duque, 12, was the first fatal victim of the attack on the police center, dying on Sunday from injuries sustained.

On the other hand, Ivanna Salomé Rangel Molina, five years old, presented polytrauma, with severe head trauma, which caused her death on Monday, March 28.

The death of Rangel Molina was announced just when a heartfelt tribute was being made to Steven Duque, where the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, participated showing her solidarity. In addition, he expressed that they will respond with "height and justice" so that the death of Daniel or any child does not go unpunished.

For his part, the Colombian president expressed through his Twitter account his deep feelings for the death of innocents, victims of "insane acts such as the terrorist attack on the Arborizadora Alta CAI in Bogotá."

In addition, he added that they will not rest until they find those responsible for the atrocious attack that left the country in mourning.
