Flights are suspended by Cyclone Bomba in the US

The mayor of New York, Eric Adams reported on his Twitter account that they expect about 30 centimeters of snow. However, nature is the one who decides to do what it wants. For this reason, it already has salt machines and snow plows ready to be mobilized to the city.

FlightAware flight tracker shows that 3,400 domestic and international flights were suspended this Saturday. On Friday, more than 1,450 flights were canceled for the same reason.

According to the National Weather Service, low visibility conditions are of extreme alert, since this would prevent travel on the northeast coast of the United States, since snow accumulation greater than 30 centimeters is alerted in different parts of the region.

State of emergency

Michelle Wu, the mayor of Boston, issued a snow emergency decree. While the governors of New Jersey and New York declared a state of emergency.

The great threat of the storm in these regions indicates that there will be strong winds and snow. In addition, a dangerous combination could be witnessed that would leave American cities without electricity. Similarly, it would create dangerous conditions for travel and flood coastal areas.

The Meteorological Service indicated that this phenomenon will cause dangerous gusts of wind due to high cold temperatures, on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul reported in a statement that the snowfall will be heavy specifically in Long Island City and in the lower Hudson Valley.

He pointed out that citizens should return home tonight with extreme care, since it is better that they stay at home during this weekend and avoid making any unnecessary trips.

The storm will be stronger in the next 24 hours and the pressure could drop to 35 soldiers on Saturday night, according to the weather service. This is what is best known as a bomb cyclone.

A similar winter storm was witnessed two weeks ago, across much of North America. This happened from Georgia to Canada. In his process, he left many houses without electricity and with connection problems.
