In New York City, the Google company was giving gift certificates with a value of $5 USD if you allowed your face to be scanned. This is speculated as part of the improvement of the facial recognition system that it will implement in its Pixel smartphones.

The company is working hard on its new generation phones that, unlike others, will be unlocked in this way and not with a fingerprint. In order to compete in the market and according to CNET, the company is testing the facial recognition system in several cities in the US.

The engineers who are conducting these tests approach citizens with a covered cell phone (to prevent it from being revealed). The user only has to hold and move their face in various directions.

It is also rumored that your new smartphone could be the Pixel 4 or the Pixel 4XL which could have gesture recognition, however at the moment there is still nothing confirmed, so we will have to wait until October 2019 for Google to finally show its new technologies.
