The President of the United States, Joe Biden, in his latest statements, has indicated that his country is not in the capacity to determine whether war crimes have been committed in the context of the conflict, without denying of course that Russia attacks Ukrainian civilians intentional way.

In the statements, the US president has expressed that it is "too soon" to accuse Russia of war crimes.

All this has been said despite the denunciations made by the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and other international human rights organizations.

However, Biden did assure that Russia is perpetrating attacks on residential areas.

This position of the United States of not assuming the war crimes committed (something that the United Kingdom did), has to do with the little involvement of Washington in the war, so as not to magnify the conflict.

Linda Thomas-Greenfield, US ambassador to the UN, said Wednesday that the Kremlin has moved weapons prohibited by the Geneva convention to Ukrainian territory, such as vacuum bombs or cluster bombs.

For his part, the president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has repeatedly asked the United States to set up a no-fly zone in his country, something that the US government has rejected because it would mean shooting down Russian planes and approaching to a direct war against the Kremlin.

First round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia

The second meeting between Ukraine and Russia was scheduled to take place this Wednesday in Belarus, with an eye toward finding solutions for the ceasefire that is already a week old.

From Minsk they have assured that the postponement of the meeting is due to "logistical problems" on the Ukrainian side to reach the meeting site.

Vladimir Medinski, Russia's main spokesman in this dialogue process, pointed out that the Russian delegation arrived early as agreed, however, he expressed his understanding of the difficulties in reaching the site on the Ukrainian side, "we will be here tomorrow morning” he finished.
