Mercosur will announce the end of the roaming service within the region
Countries like Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay will apparently give news that interests all citizens of these 4 countries. Eliminate roaming within Mercosur, within the framework covered by this block that will be held next Wednesday in Santa Fe.
Last May there was a meeting between the communications commission of Buenos Aires, in which they sought to eliminate the roaming service. And the gradual elimination of the cost was proposed. Now the point seems to be to remove it altogether.
If this happens, the inhabitants of these countries will be able to use their cell phones in any of these countries paying the same prices. Which means that they do not have to pay the additional expenses as it happens in the nations of the European Union.
It is important to know that for this to happen, all the countries mentioned must be in total agreement and that therefore I know of parliamentary approval in each one.
Although it is true that the presidents Mauricio Macri and Sebastián Piñera would have confirmed last year, that in May 2020 roaming between both countries will be eliminated.
But what is roaming?
Roaming are those additional costs that are imposed by telecommunications companies, if you want to continue using your own cell phone and Sim to make calls or surf the internet. Some countries offer low costs for these, or they are additional costs, but this happens according to the telephone company you use or the agreements between each country.
If it is possible to eliminate this, the citizens of these countries will be able to use their mobiles in any country, and it will not generate additional costs to their pockets.
