Governor Phil Murphy was the one who signed for the approval of said law in the month of April which will take effect on August 1.

The law is for older adults who are evicted, in this way they will be able to access a prescription for drugs that will end their lives and that can be consumed at home.

Several cities in this state allow the use of assisted suicide, some of them are: California, Colorado, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, Hawaii, Montana and the District of Columbia.

For the law to be applicable in a patient, an examination with a psychologist must be carried out to see if the person is with good mental capacity to make the decision.

Although the law was passed in the Senate, many voted against it and said they were concerned about the effects this could cause.

As the indiscriminate use of opioids would rise, more than 19 states are looking at the possibility of making this law effective.
