Nirvana boy lost his lawsuit
The young man photographed 30 years ago for the cover of Nirvana's "Don't bother" collection, guaranteed more than $2 million.
The lawsuit by Spencer Elden, who was photographed as a child 30 years ago for the remarkable cover of Nirvana's "Don't bother" collection, was rejected by a California judge. The lawsuit was filed against the musicians and some related organizations for child pornography and lack of consent.
Recently, Judge Fernando Olguín have dismissed the accusations, after the time limit given to Elden to present a contradiction to the proposed dismissal registered by the defendants.
It was $2,250,000 was what the model asked for, for his popular photo of a child going behind a submerged bill. When the photograph was taken, it was planned in this way to represent how the business setting generally corrupts individuals.
However, the young man claims that a "sex worker" was actually treated for his nudity and his reaction to going after money.
The lawsuit was filed against Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl. Also, for Kurt Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, also including Kirk Weddle, who was in charge of taking the picture.
He attached to the record companies and to Chad Channing, the group's drummer, who had stopped being part of them, long before publishing the record collection.
The way in which Elden had long presented himself openly as "Nirvana Baby" and had consented to present the cover occasionally being the main reason used by the defense to reject the charges.
The young man had been captured by a photographic artist friend of his parents, who offered him $200to pay for the shot. 30 years later, Elden says he never made it clear that the photo was going to be used for the album cover.
The album "Nevermind" was the one that generated the most success for the band, this being the one that triggered them to the fame of grunge music.
