North Korea on Thursday blamed the United States for aggression and said it will consider continuing "all activities briefly suspended" that it had halted during diplomatic negotiations with the Trump administration. Obvious insinuation to resume nuclear launch tests.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) detailed that the North Korean ruler, Kim Jong-un, led a meeting of the Politburo of the Workers' Party, where the authorities raised the goal of maximizing the country's military forces to counter aggression from the United States.

The authorities gave instructions to reassess the measures they had taken to build trust. In addition, they detailed that they were urgently examining resuming all the activities that had been temporarily suspended.

Kim is putting old Pyongyang measures into practice, experts say. These are challenging policies to obtain concessions from the United States and neighboring countries.

Internally, due to the pandemic and mismanagement, they are experiencing a very deteriorated economy, added to this, the United States has sanctioned on several occasions, due to nuclear movements.

Lately, North Korea has been moving forward with its military displays, including 4 rounds of missile launches in 2022, in a clear attempt to put pressure on Washington for stalling the deals.

The North Korean Foreign Ministry had warned that the activities would continue, and could even be more explicit, after the administration of US President Joe Biden implemented new sanctions (last week), by the missile tests that are being carried out.

The United Nations Security Council held a closed-door meeting on Thursday to address the Asian nation and nuclear containment.

Boo Seung-Chan, a representative of South Korea's Defense Ministry, said North Korea's military exercises are under constant monitoring, but did not comment on what measures North Korea might take.

Kim, in mid-2018, announced the unilateral suspension of his nuclear and long-range missile exercises, this at the same time that he began diplomatic negotiations with Trump in an attempt to acquire economic benefits in exchange for stopping his nuclear program.

Following a challenging nuclear test, the two countries met in 2017, in which Kim targeted a weapons arsenal that could reach the heartland of the United States and led to serious nuclear threats against Trump.

However, the deals have remained stalled since their second meeting in 2019, when the Americans dismissed North Korea's calls for a sharp easing of economic sanctions in exchange for a half-hearted waiver of its nuclear exercises.

At the end of that year, in response to threats and sanctions from the United States, Kim announced that he would strengthen his nuclear arsenal by declaring "a frontal advance" against the "American attack", at the same time, calling on his people to resist the struggle for economic independence.

Later, he announced that the nation was not obligated to maintain the suspension of its nuclear tests and long-range intercontinental missiles, something that Trump had gloated as an achievement.
