Ernest Hemingway is one of the undisputed geniuses of literature. During his life, he came to create works that made him famous worldwide, achieving a Nobel Prize for his illustrious work. Today he would be celebrating his 120th birthday if he is still alive.

Hemingway lived a somewhat traumatic life, coming from a family with high suicide rates. In this way, he lived the suicide of his grandfather, Ernest Hall, who decided to take his life due to a strong depression generated by a financial crisis.

Hemingway specialized in journalism and always had a strong desire to create literary works. It was in the early 1920s, after the First World War, that this illustrious person began to write great works.

The reality is that Hemingway lived since his adolescence immersed in the world of literature and journalism, managing to get a job that would allow him to travel around the world and learn about relevant aspects of it. This and having illustrious friends would help him to generate a unique and incomparable literary style.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Hemingway decided to move to Paris, a place where the well-known Lost Generation would be living, a town that had to be made in the face of the disasters generated by the First World War. At this time, Hemingway published his first two recognized oras: Three stories and ten poems (1923) and In our time (1924).

In 1929, Ernest Hemingway published what would be his book based on his experience in the First World War, Farewell to Arms. It would deal with the events that Hermingway lived in front of this terrible war and his infatuation with the nurse Agnes von Kurowsky.

During the 1930s and 1940s, Hemingway traveled as a correspondent to Spain to detail the events of the Civil War. During his stay in this country, he managed to write two great works: The Fifth Column (1938) and For Whom the Bell Tolls (1940).

"For whom the bell tolls" can be considered the most influential work of this writer, where he talks about transcendental issues such as the responsibility that man has over the events that occur in life, either by omitting them or taking actions in this regard.

In the 1950s, Hemingway decided to move to Havana, Cuba, a place that would inspire him to create one of his most recognized books worldwide: The Old Man and the Sea (1951).

This wonderful book led Hemingway to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1953 and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1954. These would be perhaps the greatest events in the history of this incredible author and would give truth to the fact of being one of the most great writers of all time.

On July 2, 1961, due to health complications and severe pain in the body, Hemingway decided to kill himself, following the tragic tradition of his family of committing suicide in the face of shocking events in their lives.

To this day, Ernest Hemingway is considered one of the greatest writers of all time, with various biographies and films that would be commemorating him. In addition, his literary works have become one of the most recommended by the expert literature community, thanks to his magnificent stories.
