The confrontations between the demonstrators, who are part of the union of transporters and farmers, against the police officials of Lima and the port city of Callao, have been strong, specifically due to the large number of roadblocks they have placed on the southern routes of the country.

The newspaper La República reported this Thursday that the last fatal victim was identified as Yhoni Quinto Contreras, who received a "stray bullet" impact to the head, which caused his death almost immediately.

In the department of Junín, the protests have been more intense, particularly in the Huancayo region, which is why President Pedro Castillo, who has only been in power for 8 months, will meet in the next few hours with the Council of Ministers, to search for a solution to the problem.

For their part, the protesters are requesting that the increase in the price of fuel and other basic needs, such as food and public services, be stopped, otherwise they will continue in the streets and intensify the protests even more.

The statement also reflects that the death of Jorge Maldonado Landeo, 82 years old, in Huaripampa (Jauja), was caused by a lack of provision of the treatment he needed at the Huancayo hospital, which is why they did not report this death to the Public ministry.

Similarly, the Prosecutor's Office of Peru opened a preliminary investigation to prosecute 37 people for the crime of "aggravated disturbance", in the provinces of Huancayo, where 33 individuals were detained, while in Concepción and Jauja the others were detained. four.
