As of this Monday, December 6, the United States government will require all travelers who wish to enter its territory, a negative coronavirus test carried out 24 hours before the flight, regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not.
The measure, taken by the White House, seeks to curb the spread of the new variant of Covid-19, called omicron, classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as "worrying."
The administration of President Joe Biden, has explained that the rule implemented for all people who travel to the North American nation in the following days, will guarantee a higher level of protection of public health, while scientists and researchers observe the evolution of omicron.

Likewise, Washington has indicated that travelers will not remain in quarantine for a certain time after their arrival in the nation, and they will not have to undergo anticovid tests two or three days after entering the United States.
The measure does include a campaign to promote the booster vaccine against Covid-19 among adults, it also wants to increase the number of immunized children, access to free tests at home and improve protection at work sites.
The Biden program also includes actions to reinforce the rapid response teams to reported cases, the supply of new pills used for the treatment against coronavirus, after approval by the Food and Drug Administration.
