They assassinated the Venezuelan soccer player Gerardo Mendoza
The footballer was the victim of freight forwarders who attacked him by shooting him in the head for stealing the vehicle in which he was traveling in the Municipality of Valera, a city located in the State of Trujillo.
He started his career as a footballer in 2010 with the Trujillanos shirt and then went to Portuguesa in 2017. In the 2010/2011 season he won the Venezuela Cup (in 2014/15 and 2011/2012 he was runner-up).
The renowned soccer player was 30 years old and left mourning within the Venezuelan sport who mourns his death. Gerardo was known under the nickname "El Gato", and last semester he had defended the shirt of Yaracuyanos Fútbol Club, a team that plays in the Second Division of his country.
Supporters of the soccer player mourn the loss of the player and express shock at the events, they also give words of encouragement to their friends and family.
