'Truth Social' Donald Trump's social network
The social network of the billionaire and former president of the United States will be called 'Truth Social' and will have a functionality similar to that of Twitter.
The new application of former President Donald Trump is close to being released to the public, as confirmed by US media after statements by a member of the creators of the social network.
This project could finally be Trump's return to social networks, exactly on February 21, which coincidentally is celebrated on President's Day in the United States.
The social network, which was found on download platforms in its beta phase, has its launch date stipulated in the Apple store on Monday, February 21.
With 'Truth Social' Donald Trump would return to digital platforms after a year of his ban on using Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, after the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Trump's eldest son, Donald Jr., posted on his Twitter account a screenshot of Trump's profile on the social network 'Truth Social', with the message "get ready, your favorite president will see you soon".
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) is run by US Republican Devin Nunes, who is the company in charge of creating 'Truth Social'.
This new app hopes to attract Internet users who consider that their ideas and comments are censored in current social networks.
Although Apple's 'Truth Social' indicates that it will be available on February 21, a date that a source from the company had confirmed last month, in recent days it has been commented that its launch could be postponed until the end of March.
A senior official from the company confirmed, in a round of questions and answers, that the new social network would have characteristics similar to those of Twitter.
They have also confirmed that the next highlight of the social network will be the direct message box.
On the other hand, it was announced that the possibility of receiving specific notifications when others publish some content is being evaluated, in addition to the fact that, in the future, the blocking option will be enabled within the platform.
After its release to the world, a few weeks later the policy on account verification within 'Truth Social' will be published.
Although details of the new social network are currently leaking, much of the TMTG project is still unknown. On the other hand, some technology and digital media companies view the creation of this new social network with suspicion.
