US: Russia sends reinforcements for major offensive in Donbas
For 8 years, Donbas has been in dispute between pro-Russian radical groups and the Ukrainian government.

In a press conference held on Monday, Defense Department spokesman John Kirby assured that artillery equipment and support for helicopters have been increased. In addition, he asserted that this movement is also taking place in the south of the invaded country.

According to the information provided, around 600 or 800 soldiers could be ready to start the offensive in Donbas and have a level of war preparation, as well as a variety of high-caliber weapons.

Kirby stressed that since the war began, the Ukrainians have resisted, especially in the city of Miriupol, which was recently taken again by Russian forces and since the weekend they have bombed near the capital.

Similarly, he noted that Russia sent more than 10 groups to Ukraine, strategically placing them for the attack that the Pentagon says is coming.

Donbas has been in combat for 8 years, where pro-Russian militias seek to separate this region from Ukraine, reject and oppose the government of Volodímir Zelenski, to the point of having rebel leaders who make up a kind of command regime in the locality.

During the dialogue tables between Russia and Ukraine, Moscow raised the possibility of laying down its arms if - among other things - Kiev handed over the Donbas, for which Zelensky closed any possibility of giving up this important area.
