Steps to make the banana pie
Note: To better explain the brewing process, we will divide it into several phases.
Preparation of the base of the pie
Place waxed paper at the base of the pan.
Grease a napkin with oil and run it over the sides of the mold. Reserve the mold.
Break the cookies a little and add them to the blender, cover and turn on medium speed. Let them crush until you notice that the cookies already have a sandy consistency.
Transfer the crushed cookies to a bowl and add the bar and a half of butter at room temperature.
Using a paddle, begin to integrate the crushed cookies with the butter. You can also use your hands until the mixture has a slightly damp, sand-like consistency.
Transfer the cookie mixture to the mold and with your hands or using a trowel, smooth the surface by flattening it slightly. Once you notice that the surface is completely smooth, reserve the mold with the base in the refrigerator.
To make the pie mix
We will start by adding the water in a bowl, to then pour the unflavored gelatin little by little and in the form of rain.
Peel and cut the bananas into small pieces and add them to the blender, followed by the evaporated milk, the tablespoons of sugar and the pinch of cinnamon.
Turn on the mixer and begin to beat the ingredients. While they are beating, add the lemon juice little by little and let everything beat for a minute or until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Strain the mixture by dropping the strained liquid into a bowl. Reserve it.
We put the content of the half-cream can in the blender, followed by the three bars of cream cheese, the can of condensed milk and the tablespoon of vanilla essence.
Cover the blender and beat just a little to integrate, for 30 seconds.
Integrate the mixture with that of the previously reserved bowl. With the help of a whisk, mix very well so that everything is integrated perfectly.
When you have a homogeneous and one-colored mixture, add the food coloring and continue mixing.
Once the gelatin has been hydrated for ten minutes, take it to the microwave for ten minutes and then warm it a little by adding about 4 tablespoons of the mixture little by little while mixing.
Subsequently, add together with all the mixture in the bowl, adding little by little and without stopping to stir. Once you make sure everything has been well integrated, reserve to take to the mold.
Assemble the pie and let it cool
Pour the pie mixture into the pan with the base, dropping from the center to fill the pan.
Give the mold a little shake to make sure the surface is smoothed out a bit. Then, with a wooden toothpick we stir a little to remove the air bubbles.
Cover the mold with transparent plastic wrap or a plastic lid and put it in the refrigerator for a minimum of 4 to 8 hours. Another option is to leave it in the refrigerator overnight.
After this time, remove the transparent plastic wrap cover and unmold, but not before taking off the edges.
Carefully place the pie on a plate and remove the waxed paper.
Decorate the banana pie
Put a couple of tablespoons of Nutella in a bag, close it and poke a small hole. Draw the shape you like with the chocolate cream on the pie.
Peel the bananas and cut them into slices and dip them in the lemon juice, making sure that the pieces are well covered with the lemon juice.
Leave the banana pieces in the lemon juice and then place them on the pie, arranging them as you see fit to decorate.
If you like, add a cherry in the center and a sprig of mint.
Recommendations and tips for a perfect banana pie recipe
You will need to use a 23 cm diameter mold, preferably removable. You also need wax or butter paper on hand.
To crush the cookies, you can use a bag with a rolling pin, a blender, or a food processor.
After making the base, you should take it with the mold to the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes so that it solidifies.
If you don't want to decorate the pie, you can simply serve immediately after unmolding.
Remember that this is a cold dessert, so you should keep it refrigerated and take it out only to serve the portion that will be consumed immediately.
