Bad Bunny will play 'El Muerto' in a new Marvel movie
The singer of the urban genre has decided to return to the film industry, after his recent appearance in the film 'Bullet Train'. On this occasion, Bad Bunny will be embodying a new character in the "Marvel Cinematic Universe", the news was revealed by Sony Pictures on April 26, 2022.
The new Marvel project will be part of the 'Spider-Man' franchise, which will mark the sequel to the Sam Raimi sagas. It is important to mention that, to date, the official title of the film has not been revealed and fans speculate that the project will have a cameo in the installment of 'The Amazing Spider-Man 3' starring 'Andrew Garfield'.
Bad Bunny made a statement through his official Twitter account, where he stated that he is excited by the idea of being "the first Latin antihero" and being part of one of Raimi's tapes.
In addition, in his post, he revealed that his character is named ' El Muerto ', a character that will make an alliance with Venom in the future.
About the new Marvel movie
The production will be directed by the showrunner 'Sam Raimi', it will be an action, suspense and drama film, which will deal with the life of a new antihero.
' El Muerto ', is a fighter from Mexico who has a mask that allows him to have superhuman abilities and while he is wearing it, he is eminently practically invincible.
The character will be played by the Puerto Rican singer ' Bad Bunny ', who will be starring in the film with 'Mickey Rourke' and 'Wesley Snipes'.
During the ' CinemaCon ' fair that took place in Las Vegas, the president of Sony Motion Pictures Group 'Sanford Panitch' offered unpublished information about the new film. Sanford revealed that the film will feature the participation of heroes already known in the 'MCU' and there will be a cameo where we will see Venom and a new variant of Spider-Man.
'Sanford Panitch' asserted that this will be the first Marvel movie to be starred by a character that is not part of the comics written by Stan Lee.
The filming of " El Muerto " will begin in November 2022 and the film will invest more than 4 billion dollars in film production.
Synopsis of the film
The plot will relate the life of a young Mexican 'Juan Carlos Sánchez', who is part of a family of professional wrestlers.
However, the young man discovers that his father has superhuman powers due to a mystical macara that has been in the Sánchez family for more than 12 generations.
After an encounter in the ring, Juan Carlos's father is murdered, from that moment the young man inherited the mask and begins to have drastic changes in his body. Filled with hatred, the young fighter traces his new objective, to assassinate those responsible for the death of his beloved father.
The next movie from the 'Marvel Cinematic Universe' will be hitting theaters around the world starting on January 12, 2024.
