The pioneer and greatest exponent of Reggaeton, Daddy Yankee, reported through a video his retirement from music, after more than three decades in music.

This announcement has impressed many of his followers. However, with the information of a farewell tour, called ' The Last Return World Tour ', he has managed to calm the spirits of many people.

In addition, through his latest album (and the first after a decade), called ' Legendaddy ', he will pay tribute to his entire musical career.

His followers and fans have been surprised after seeing this video posted on his social networks and on his YouTube channel. The Puerto Rican made reference to his career with a marathon and that his retirement would be the goal.

Daddy Yankee reported that, now, he will enjoy with the followers, everything that they have given him. He added that people know him as the one who turned Reggaeton into a global genre.

However, he explained that it was the fans who gave them the keys to open the door and make this genre the largest worldwide.

He also thanked his fans, who will help him become a pioneer. Also, He referred to the new artists and advised them to work with discipline, to always be leaders and not to set limits.

After the announcement of his retirement, the singer's latest album will be released on March 24. In this, you can enjoy the best production of all and the musical styles that define the singer.

Legacy

The song that was responsible for internationalizing Reggaeton was the well-known song 'Gasolina'. In 2004 the song became very famous, which caused everyone to know Daddy Yankee.

Throughout his career he sold more than 30 million records. 'Barrio fino', an album in which ' Gasolina ' is included, was the best-selling Latin album of the 2000s.

Another of his great successes was ' Despacito' with Luis Fonsi. With this song they remained at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 list for 16 weeks.

With this song, Daddy Yankee was awarded 10 Guiness World Records.
