Ed Razek resigns after hiring the first transgender model to be part of Victoria's Secret
According to a note issued to employees by the American businessman who is the CEO of Victoria's Secret, the company's director in charge of marketing Ed Razek resigns.
This man who would have been in charge for 15 years of the selection of many of the models that have been part of the catwalk of this important company.
His retirement was announced after the renowned company assured that the annual parade would not be held this year. This man held deeply rooted the idea of an "ideal" prototype of a woman of what he considered to be "perfect" and he was also an opponent in terms of diversity.
Last year there was a scandal in the company because Ed Razek told the media that he would never hire a transgender model and also assured that the population did not have the slightest interest in plus-size women in the parade.
His retirement came after 22-year-old Brazilian transgender model Valentina Sampaio signed her first campaign with the brand. Changes and inclusion are essential in the growth of both the company and for fashion, it is a century in which we find diversity and therefore those paradigms that do not allow growing or advance must collapse, we must give way to the rise of the real beauty and no filters.
