Eduardo Verástegui shaved in honor of children with cancer at the 2021 telethon
The politician and entertainer made a show of generosity with children with cancer
The entertainer, Eduardo Verástegui, completely shaved his head in a show of sympathy with young people who go through a terrible disease such as cancer.
This was during the evening of Telethon 2021, where more than 300 million pesos were raised, as stated at the end of the broadcast on Saturday, despite the fact that gifts are still being obtained.
It was during this telethon coordinated by Televisa that Verástegui chose to undergo a rare makeover for a worthy goal. Later, on his Instagram account, he composed a message about the justifications for why he decided to shave his head.
"For the young people, for HITO, for Telethon, because we are each one of us when our hearts are flooded, and we embrace a reason and a similar battle! A couple of days before, I visited the Teletón Children's Oncology Hospital in Querétaro," he said Eduardo, who was also touched by the little ones who are also oncology patients.
He also pointed out that this act was done to share with the child heroes who fight this battle; and added that this action is a way of saying "I appreciate you, I am with you".
In addition, Verástegui shared the melody that he composed motivated by the stories of these young people with diseases, and reported that all the money raised by that single will be contributed to that cause.
"While I was combing my hair, we welcomed everyone to join Teletón. We set a target figure, however, it was far exceeded by all the Mexicans who donated," he said in the message in which he referred to different scenarios that participated in this incredible occasion.
AMLO's participation
In the same way, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), approached Mexicans to participate in the Telethon. Despite the fact that he had recently taken a stand against the foundation.
Through a video recorded from the National Palace, which was communicated during the telethon 2021 broadcast, AMLO welcomed Mexicans and encouraged them to contribute what came from their hearts, since "it is not a matter only of public power or the heads of the Telethon. In his message, López Obrador announced the signing of the agreement of this foundation and explained that on behalf of Teletón it will be a special case.
Likewise, he guaranteed that he has full confidence in those responsible for said foundation, particularly in its leader, Fernando Landeros Verdugo, "who is a man who exudes kindness with a social aspect," he said.
Many people with all this have remembered years ago when AMLO wrote a tweet against the Telethon: "Not even with all the Televisa on the planet could Televisa compensate for the incredible damage caused to the people of Mexico by part of the mafia of this power," he expressed through of social media in 2014.
