The artist Dua Lipa was sued for plagiarism in the theme 'Levitating'

A Reggae band in Florida (United States) filed a lawsuit against the pop artist, accusing her of plagiarism in the publication of a recent song.
The Reggae group claimed that Dua Lipa used phrases from one of their songs for the composition of his hit ' Levitating ' which was released in 2020.
The legal procedure was carried out in the courts of Los Angeles, where the plaintiffs affirm that the lyrics of the song that the singer published in 2020 are very similar to those of one of her compositions 'Live Your Life' that the group released at the end of 2017.
Artikal Sound System Claims Dua Lipa Made 'Exact Copy' Of Their Song
The reggae group called 'Artikal Sound System' filed a complaint with the legal authorities of the state of Florida to punish Dua Lipa for being inspired by her song to create songs of her own.
The band was interviewed in a virtual press conference where they reveal information about the lawsuit:
“It is highly unlikely that Dua Lipa 's 'Levitating' song was created independently. It is no coincidence that the lyrics are similar to our song 'Live Your life', if it is an exact copy”, Artikal Sound System stated in its statement.
The reggae group defends its point and is convinced that the artist had access to her theme when recording the 2020 song and used it to complete her composition. However, the singer and actress from England mentioned that this song was not composed by her, but by the label.
The lawsuit is still under review, the group Artikal Sound System has not specified before the bench the reasons why they are completely sure that the British artist had access to her lyrics to recreate her song, nor do they justify why the lawsuit It was performed 2 years after the event.
Reggae band demands compensation from Dua Lipa
The group chose to make a call to the singer-songwriter of 'One Kiss' in order to place the name of the band in the credits of the song. In addition, they are demanding compensation from Dua Lipa for all the damages she caused with her label for the apparent plagiarism of her song 'Live Your Life'.
