Brazil vs. Argentina on the 6th qualifying round will be played in June
The decision includes a fine to each association of thousands of dollars.

This Monday the FIFA Disciplinary Committee (International Federation of Association Football) made the decision to carry out again the match suspended on September 5 between Brazil and Argentina for the South American Qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

After analyzing what happened, the competent authorities concluded that there were several deficiencies in the two teams and for this reason the decision was made to resume the match under specific conditions. Namely, it will be held in June but on a neutral court. In the statement, FIFA stated that:

"The FIFA Disciplinary Committee concluded that the abandonment of the match was due to various deficiencies of the parties involved with respect to their corresponding responsibilities and/or obligations in relation to it."

In the same way, the associations involved were informed about the decision and the conditions imposed, to which the president of the AFA (Argentine Football Association), Chiqui Tapia, did not take long to express his reaction to these measures from his Twitter account:

"As President of AFA, I promise to make all the necessary efforts, and to appeal FIFA's ruling in reference to the qualifying match with Brazil. Our priority is always the Argentine National Team".

The FIFA Disciplinary Commission established that the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) must pay a fine of almost US$600,000 and the Argentine Football Association (AFA), US$270,000. In the same way, the Argentine soccer players who came from England before that match were suspended for the last two qualifying dates.

Emiliano Buendía, Emiliano Martínez, Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero are the names that have been singled out with this sanction, in addition, it should be noted that the fines have been imposed on these associations for infractions of order, security, preparation and participation in the meeting, as well as its abandonment.

Remembering the decision on September 5 in São Paulo

Brazil vs. Argentina on the 6th qualifying round will be played in June
The South American football classic is the most anticipated match of the qualifiers.

It should be remembered that on September 5, the match of date 6 of the South American Qualifiers between Brazil and Argentina was played at the Arena stadium in São Paulo and 5 minutes into the match, Brazilian health authorities entered the field to prevent the aforementioned players continue to participate in the match.

They alleged that there was allegedly a violation of the covid-19 security protocols in the country and for this reason the confrontation ended up suspended. From that moment on, the players returned to their locker rooms and the associations representing each team defended themselves against the decision made.

Until this Monday no decision had been made in this regard, but once the measure is known, the only thing left is to wait for more details of the exact day and the place of the meeting.

For its part, it should be noted that by then the last qualifying dates (17 and 18) will have been completed for months.

Brazil and Argentina are already qualified for the World Cup in Qatar, but depending on the results of the last dates, the match that will be played in June may be decisive to decide the first and second place in the classification.
