The Venezuelan goalkeeper suffered one of the worst injuries for footballers.

This Monday the main goalkeeper of the Vinotinto, Wuilker Fariñez was injured in a training session of the team concentrated in the city of Cartagena, Murcia ahead of their friendly match against Saudi Arabia this Thursday.

The 24-year-old soccer player went out to look for the ball that came from a center into the area to intercept it, but at that moment he suffered an imbalance that made him fall with all the weight of his body on his left leg. That is why the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) through a statement reported:

"We regret to report that, during morning training in the city of Cartagena, Murcia, player Wuilker Faríñez suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee."

In addition, the information also details that the medical body instantly, after reviewing it, took it to the clinic to confirm the damage. Once there, after performing all the tests, the aforementioned injury was confirmed.

The former goalkeeper of Millonarios de Colombia and current owner of Lens de France must undergo surgery and it is estimated that his recovery time will be six months or more, so he will no longer be on the courts for the rest of the year.

Fariñez comes from a great participation in Lens and in the national team. Last Wednesday, the Vinotinto beat the Malta team at the Ta'Qali National Stadium with a final score of 0-1, with a goal from the top Venezuelan scorer, Salomón Rondón.

For José Pekerman, Fariñez's injury also represents a major setback, since he was the undisputed starter in goal and may have to turn to Joel Graterol, 25, and starter with América de Cali.
