From its own blog, the Redmond company has confirmed the launch date. In addition, from this September 16 the version of Office LTSC will be available. This is a special version that is intended for government entities and some specific companies.

This new version will include the traditional software that makes up the brand, that is: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Onenote or Publisher.

What's new in Microsoft Office 2021

This new version is not going to represent a great leap compared to the previous version (2019). However, it will bring some changes that are quite interesting. Next, we will tell you what they are.

- You will find an important change in the aesthetic section, we will see a slightly renewed and cleaner interface.

- Support for dark mode has been added,

- Line Focus is added, a feature that comes from Office 365 and that seeks to eliminate distractions while editing a document.

- The XLOOKUP function has been added, which makes it easier to search in Excel spreadsheets.

These are the main features that are known so far, Microsoft has not yet published the official list. These have been extracted from the LTSC versions. It is expected that the full list of novelties, as well as the price, will be released in the days leading up to the launch.

Will it be worth switching from Office 2019 to 2021?

This is a question that many people ask themselves, after all, at first glance the changes we will have will be visual. However, it is important to be clear that this new version is very likely to have changes in terms of security and performance.

In fact, it is likely that this office suite is optimized to work with the new Windows 11 that is in doors. In any case, the option of obtaining this new version of Office will depend on yourself.

If you think that it is not necessary to update yet, you can choose not to do it, in the same way, the 2019 version will continue to work without problems. However, as a recommendation, the ideal is to always have the latest versions of the software, since these have important security updates.
