The series 'Euphoria' becomes the most watched in the history of HBO Max

The series produced by HBO and directed by Sam Levinson premiered its final episode of the season last Sunday, February 27, to end its second installment.

Without a doubt, the production was one of the most anticipated of this first period of the year, the series even doubled the number of viewers it had in season 1.

'Euphoria' began to break records from the premiere of its pilot episode and this is not a coincidence, because the series included the participation of great actors and musical artists. Where they stood out: Labrinth, Zendaya and Drake as musical producers of the playlists.

The first episodes marked the premiere with the most views on the platform. However, it was not the only historical milestone, since, after the broadcast of episode 8, the series broke the record for the most watched series in the history of HBO Max. Beating for the first time the Game Of Thrones series that held the position for 8 years.

About the third season of 'Euphoria'

The creator of the series Sam Levinson together with the directors of HBO decided to reconsider the renewal of a new installment of Euphoria, after seeing that the viewer ratings were increasing with each episode.

The film director did not plan to continue the story, however, he modified the plot to extend it.

The end of the second season left several loose ends that have caused a lot of intrigue among viewers, such as: the outcome of Rue and Jules' relationship, how will Rue pay the debt to the drug dealer? and What happened to Fezco after the raid?; details that will be resolved in the following season.

The last minute decision that changed the end of the series

One of the arcs of episode 8 of the second season of " Euphoria" focused on the personal lives of Fezco and Ashtray, who were about to end up being invaded by the police after they were reported for the murder of Mouse.

During one of those scenes, viewers suffered one of the saddest moments of the series.

After his friend Custer ratted them out, the police raided Fezco's house, Ashtray was immediately angered and went to the bathroom armed with machine guns waiting for the police.

He immediately started shooting at the officers and ended up accidentally shooting Fezco, then the police come in and they end up 'murdering Ashtray' apparently.

It is important to note that this scene was not part of the series script, it was an afterthought that ended up giving the story an unexpected twist. Actor Javon Walton (Ashtray) stated during an interview that his character was not going to be the victim of the season finale episode:

“Ashtray wasn't going to get shot. That's another thing. They weren't going to shoot him! It was Fez who was supposed to be shot at the beginning, which is crazy. And then, like the day before, they changed the plot to me getting shot," Walton said in an interview with Variety.

Actors who will be part of the third season

The cast actors who have confirmed their participation for the third season of Euphoria are: Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Damie, Dominic Fike, Maude Apatow, Sedney Sweeney and Nika King.

To date there are 7 names that director Sam Levinson has confirmed are officially in the cast, about the rest of the cast members nothing is known about their future.
