The series 'Locke & Key' announces its final season on Netflix
The production of " Locke & Key " marked one of the most promising series on the streaming platform. Since the series took several years to come to light to recreate the details of film production, this came to generate great expectations in subscribers, but the series was not what was expected.
A couple of hours ago, Netflix executives announced that the miniseries will mark the end of its history after failing to raise the necessary funds to renew the next seasons.
Season 3 will be the one that puts an end to the story of the 'Locke' family, with a completely modified plot to finish the story.
About 'Locke and Key'
The controversial fictional Netflix series is inspired by the homonymous comic book saga by the authors 'Joe Hill' and 'Gabriel Rodríguez'. ' Locke and Key ' is a production created by 'Meredith Averill' and 'Carlton Cuse' in mid-2020, cataloged as a horror, terror and fantasy story that follows the life of the 'Locke' family.
It is worth mentioning that, after the controversial news of the series outcome, the creators decided to release a special statement to talk about the reasons for the cancellation and what we will be seeing in this new installment.
In the statement they stated that they both had a hunch that 'Locke and Key' would end in their after its third season.
"Once we started working on the series, we felt that three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their adventures in the House of Keys to a satisfying conclusion."
"As storytellers, we are grateful that we were able to tell our version of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez's incredible story exactly the way we wanted to do it. We kept the magic keys, however, for our own personal use.", sentenced the creator 'Meredith Averill' before Variety.
Synopsis for 'Locke and Key'
The story recounts the life of the prestigious Locke family, who lives in a gigantic mansion located in Lovecraft, Massachusetts.
The family had made the decision to move away from the mansion to start a new life and forget about the horrors of their past. However, after the murder of his father, the family returns to the house with his mother.
The Kinsey brothers, Tyler and Bode arrive at the mansion to learn that their home is full of magical keys, which have unimaginable psychic powers. Objects have the ability to enter each other's minds and separate souls from their bodies.
However, the three brothers must be very sensible and cautious, since the keys are directly connected to the murder of their father. The Locke family will have to protect themselves from a dangerous entity that is trapped in the mansion.
Season 3 of ' Locke and Key' will be available from April 7, 2022 through the Netflix catalog.
