HBO's new story based on real events is called ' Tokyo Vice ', one of the most revealing stories of the same name this year. The series has announced the premiere of its first season, which will talk about the life of the journalist who managed to survive the Japanese mafia.

The series will be made up of fragments of the life of 'Jake Adelstein', the journalist who managed to survive one of the most dangerous mafias in the world and wrote a homonymous memoir.

The new production is 50% based on and inspired by Jake's books, since the history of the series will be fictional.

About 'Tokyo Vice'

The new title ' Tokyo Vice ' is produced by HBO and SKY Pictures, the script for the series was written by 'JT Rogers' and it will be directed by 'Michael Mann'.

The cast is starred by 'Ansel Elgort', 'Ken Watanabe' and 'Rachel Keller', who will be in charge of embodying the colleagues of 'Adestein'.

On this occasion, HBO Max will broadcast the first season of the series based on real events in its full format, the installment will consist of 10 episodes of 60 minutes per chapter. The creator 'JT Rogers' stated that the journalist's story will be extended over 3 future seasons.

Synopsis of the film

'Tokyo Vice' recounts the life of 'Jake Adelstein', a journalist from Missouri, (United States) in the 1960s. 'Adelstein' moved to Japan to practice his profession and managed to draw a good line in his career, becoming part of the best publishers in the world.

After a stroke of luck, journalist Jake Adelstein managed to become the first foreign man to be part of the most widely read newspaper in Japan and one of the most important in the world 'Yomiuri Shinbun'.

The journalist began to write important and recognized articles for the newspaper and specialized in criminal investigations, thanks to his ability to solve crimes.

Therefore, work began with the Tokyo police team, with the aim of bringing to light the cases of corruption in the publishing house.

The problems for 'Jake Adelstein' began when he began to get involved in cases directly related to Yakuza, the largest organized crime organization in Japan. Because of this, the Japanese mafia sets its sights on the American journalist for ratting them out to the media.

Trailer for 'Tokyo Vice'

HBO Max was responsible for publishing the first official preview of " Tokyo Vice " a couple of hours ago on their social networks, now it is available on the platform portal. The advance has a duration of 2 minutes and a half, where we observe the appearance of the actor 'Ansel Elgort' who will be embodying the journalist.

In the trailer we see Jake's first case in the 'Yomiuri Shinbun' publishing house, in one of the scenes they reveal the alliance between the revolutionary 'Hiroto Katagiri' and 'Jake Adelstein' that will be crucial for his survival in the 'Yakuza' mafia.

'Tokyo Vice' will arrive on HBO Max with the publication of its first season on April 8 on the platform's official portal.
