News and news from the world Apple
In recent days there has not been as much news as on other occasions in the Apple world, mainly due to Black Friday that captured everyone's attention.
Therefore, below we review the latest news from the Apple world available to date.
Spotify
Subscribers to the music service and Apple's greatest rival are beginning to get impatient with its application. In fact, one of the things that attracts a lot of attention is that Spotify has not yet sought to catch up with other services, such as compatibility with HomePod.
The HomePod is one of the most iconic products and one of the best known when it comes to smart speakers, along with Amazon's Alexa and Google's.
It is a bit inexplicable that to this day Spotify still does not have native support, and this is what makes subscribers impatient. Many are the reactions that the company has received through social networks and different forums, where customers are furious with the company for this unjustified delay.
At WWDC 2020 Apple announced that the HomePod would be compatible with third-party applications and music services, so that through requests with Siri we can prevent them from playing certain songs.
The services that were announced at that conference are Amazon Music, Pandora, AIG RADIO, etc. But Spotify wasn't on that list, it may be that Spotify didn't ask them or because Spotify wasn't interested.
In any case, time has shown that even if Apple had not hypothetically asked Spotify, it would not have been much effort to do so. So Spotify could have taken the initiative.
The truth is that a year and a half has already passed, and we still have no news in this regard. Some think that the reason may be that old rivalry that exists between Spotify and Apple.
Remember that Spotify once accused Apple of being anticompetitive by benefiting Apple Music and harming other music services within Apple devices.
Be that as it may, this takes its toll on Spotify because many users in different forums and social networks are arguing that they are buying the new HomePod mini and are taking advantage of the three months of trial that Apple gives to test Apple Music.
They are betting on renewing their subscription if Spotify does not make a move that suggests that this support is coming soon.
Although it's not just about the HomePod mounts, but also things like Play 2 compatibility, which is also going to be delayed. That's why Spotify should hurry because Apple Music has been going strong.
Especially as December approaches, because the HomePod mini aims to be one of the most gifted products by users.
In addition, new versions of the HomePod mini are now available. In fact, at the last Apple event it was announced that the HomePod mini was going to be available in more colors aside from the black and white that they initially came out with.
These colors are: yellow, orange and blue, which by the way are already on sale in more countries for 99 euros. These countries that were added to those that already were, are: Australia, Austria, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Bootcamp
This is one of the features that users loved the most on Macs with Intel chips. That is the possibility that it gave us to be able to use a dedicated space on the hard disk to be able to install Windows natively, as if it were a 100% operating system and not virtualization.
This is key functionality for many Mac users, because your business may need to use software that is not available on macOS and Windows.
The new Apple chips like the M1 are very good, but they have a detail, it is that their architecture is based on ARM and does not allow compatibility with Windows 11, which is based on X86.
This has caused the Bootcamp functionality to not be operational in Apple Silicon, at least for now, since some developers have known something that we did not know until now, and that is that Microsoft has an agreement with Qualcomm to have the exclusivity of a version of ARM-based Windows.
They are the only ones who can use this operating system with this architecture and with their processors, but this agreement is about to end.
This could give Mac users hope that very soon we can also see that Apple reaches some kind of agreement with Microsoft and they no longer have that exclusivity in Qualcomm.
In such a way that Mac users can use this function again. Because for now the only possibility that users with an Apple Mac have to be able to use Windows is through applications, that is, virtualization and that is not the same experience that an installation gives us natively.
MacBook Air with M2 chip
Some cut designs have been leaked that could correspond to this new device. In it, we can see a new design that the first thing that stands out is that it has much straighter lines than the design we have so far.
So it abandons that characteristic angular design that was opening if you approached the part of the screen. It is very reminiscent of the MacBook Pro M1, in terms of the form factor of the device. But it is understood that there will be some differences that we will see as the weeks go by.
Another peculiarity is in the matter of connections. You can see that the Max Safe connections are incorporated and also two Thunderbolt ports (one on each side) and a headphone jack which is always welcome.
Another thing that draws attention is the screen, apparently it would not have a notch and the webcam would be integrated into the bezel of the device itself. Which is in contrast to previous rumors that the MacBook Air was going to have a notch. In addition, the bezels of the equipment itself, and of the keyboard, will be white.
