Why is Hurricane Dorian not moving and staying in the Bahamas?
These are not quiet days for the Bahamas. After the passage of Hurricane Dorian, it stopped very close to the island, which has complicated the work of rebuilding the destruction it caused throughout the region and especially on Abaco Island.
The experts explained that Hurricane Dorian does move, but at a very low speed. The reason is that there is no dominant atmospheric current that allows it to move with greater intensity. Specifically, the air stream is located at 5,500 meters above the hurricane, but these are stopped, so it cannot establish a direction to continue.
What makes this event special is that a Category 5 hurricane has never been recorded to stop, making it a scientific event in need of further study.
At the moment, it is known with a high pressure system found in Bermuda, it makes a wall or retention force, which limits the movement of the hurricane. Now, it is known that another atmospheric pressure tries to carry the hurricane in the opposite direction, which causes Dorian to remain intact.
However, this is good news for the United States. A hurricane that remains in the same sector begins to fill with cold water, which begins to reduce its strength. The now category 4 hurricane, if it continues in this area, will begin to lose strength and will disappear quickly.
Some experts believe that the hurricane will be "pushed" towards Florida, but it would actually arrive with very little force and although it is still a danger to the region, it has lost considerable force to stop being "devastating and catastrophic".
For the moment we will be attentive to the versions delivered by the National Hurricane Center and the destination that Dorian takes in the next few hours.
