What is carpal tunnel syndrome?
The pain when a person has carpal tunnel syndrome is severe and continuous. People do not have much information about this problem, that is why we have made this article so that they can inform themselves and know what measures they should take if they are suffering from it.
Before explaining this syndrome, you need to know what carpal tunnel is. It is found at the base of the hand and 4 tendons run through it that allow the movement of the fingers.
When repetitive actions are performed that require the wrist to be flexed or also by the use of tools that produce vibration, the nerve that passes through the tunnel becomes inflamed and this causes pain.
Many people think that they can suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome simply by using a computer keyboard or mouse, however studies have already been carried out and none of the actions mentioned above can lead to such a condition; although they can cause tendinitis or other problems.
There are two types of carpal tunnel syndrome, which have very distinctive characteristics from each other.
Acute type : Usually, when a radius fracture occurs, there is an increase in pressure within the carpal tunnel on a continuous and prolonged basis.
Chronic type: As mentioned before, people who, due to their work, require the use of a flexed wrist, such as repositories in a supermarket or seamstresses, are the group of people who suffer from this syndrome. The biggest problem is that suffering from the disease can last for months and even years.
Carpal tunnel syndrome requires medical attention as soon as possible, otherwise it will increase in severity and the pain will be worse.
In turn, it is a good recommendation to recognize the factors that lead the person to suffer from this syndrome in order to avoid them.
