The best ways to make money with Twitter
Unlike YouTube, Facebook, and even TikTok, there is no program on Twitter by which you can earn money as a content creator. You cannot monetize your videos or get a share of your advertising revenue on Twitter.
Fortunately, Twitter is implementing improvements in order to change that. Although there is still no revenue sharing model on the platform, there are some new features that will allow content creators to make money on the platform.
All of these features currently involve creators receiving payment directly from other Twitter users rather than the company and its advertisers.
Ways to make money with Twitter
There are 3 monetization models that Twitter has planned for content creators, including the following.
Tips (Tip Jar)
Tip Jar is basically a way for your followers to "tip" you through some of the most popular online payment platforms. In other words, if your followers like your content, you could “reward” yourself with a tip.
Just hit "Edit Profile" on your Twitter profile page. If the feature is available to you, you can activate tips right in that menu.
From there, you can configure the payment options for those who want to tip you. Currently Tip Jar works with Cash App, PayPal, Venmo, Patreon and Bandcamp.
Super Followers
In the event that you have 10,000 followers and you publish at least one tweet a day, you will be able to use this option.
Super Follows are Twitter's version of a subscription monetization model. Creators who have Super Follows activated can charge users a monthly fee for extra content.
Twitter allows creators to price their subscription at $ 2.99, $ 4.99, or $ 9.99. Creators take 97% of the revenue, until it reaches $ 50,000. From there, Twitter increases its share and creators take 80% of the revenue.
Twitter Spaces
Twitter Spaces is the platform-integrated version of the popular Clubhouse mobile application. It is basically a live audio chat and it has proven to be quite successful on Twitter in the few months it has been running on the platform.
In fact, the Spaces feature (which is free) has been so successful that Twitter has rolled out a monetization feature for it, which is why this feature is called " Ticketed Spaces." To request Ticketed Spaces management and charge for your Twitter Spaces events, simply click the "Monetization" button from the main menu, tap "Ticketed Spaces" and fill out the request.
