The world's number one chess player, Magnus Carlsen, has managed to successfully break into the world of poker, finishing number 25 in the Norwegian championship of this discipline, keeping a total of 5,000 euros.

It would be the fourth day of the main event, when Magnus Carlsen would be eliminated from the competition, at the hands of Tom Aksel Bedell; one of the best Norwegian players, who would finish in third place, in the Norwegian Poker Championship.

Magnus Carlsen, who is also known for his competitive spirit in chess, was truly pleased with this new experience, causing many to be surprised by his successful breakthrough into this mind game.

Magnus Carlsen's words after his participation ended

When being interviewed when his participation ended, Magnus Carlsen asserted that despite feeling a little uncomfortable at the beginning, little by little he let go, feeling better and better.

In the same way, he expressed that he did not have great expectations when participating in the Norwegian Poker Championship, but he indicated that he felt very happy, having participated with discipline and concentration.

When the number 1 chess player was asked if he would continue to participate in these championships, he replied that he does not rule it out, although it would not be with the same intensity as in his chess career.

The vision of poker experts and acquaintances of Magnus Carlsen, about his participation

One of the Norwegian experts of the discipline pointed out that the participation of the chess player shows that the training of other mental disciplines translates into an overwhelming advantage for the game of Poker.

However, it should also be noted that, unlike the science game, in Poker, the factor of luck has a greater incidence ; although sometimes, self-confidence, and staying calm in tense moments, are of great help, both in Poker and in chess.

One of the high points of Magnus Carlsen's participation was when he got a hand of two Aces, showing calm during the game.

This calm led to withdrawing each of his opponents, until only he and one other player remained; who despite taking the battle to the end, succumbed to Carlsen's 100,000 bet.

Other chess grandmasters have commented on this triumph, noting that Carlsen is a good private poker player, echoing the comments of specialists; who affirm that Magnus Carlsen has a future in the world of Poker.
