How to create an industrial style based on your colors
Know the tones you will need to start your decoration
The industrial style is one of the most modern trends of this century due to the implementation of key elements that give rise to its name. However, this would be nothing without its characteristic color palette.
The industrial-style color palette offers character, modernism and sophistication, which is why they are vital when it comes to planning our interior design.
As a starting point to create an industrial environment in your home, you should start with colors, that is why I show you everything you need to know about the industrial color palette.
Get to know the industrial-inspired colors to decorate your home
Many of the colors that we will present to you are totally inspired by industrial elements, these being the bases of this style.
The characteristics of the industrial style focus on obtaining a modern and stylish environment through objects with an industrial and urban appearance, such as bricks, antique industrial lamps and shelves.
From these elements, materials such as metal, copper, bronze and concrete come to light, these have unique colors that are reflected in industrial decoration.
This is where the industrial color palette arises, which we can use from the walls to the decorations, whether we have many or few elements of this genre.
These colors are mostly dark tones, taking into account that the lighting of the environment does not depend mainly on the tones, but on the natural and artificial light that is implemented through windows and lamps.
Now let's see what are the colors that we can use to set our home with this modern style.
Reddish brick color
As its name indicates, this color belongs to the bricks, the reddish hue is striking, but it fits perfectly with the style.
Usually we can see it mainly on bare brick walls, giving a strong and somewhat vintage image.
However, this tonality is very evident and gives an exotic touch when it is reflected in furniture. It is usually used in one or two elements, so as not to overload the space.
Industrial gray color palette
Gray offers a more modern environment with the industrial touch that it deserves, since it is strongly linked with metal and concrete.
Hence, in a single decoration we can see different shades of gray being part of the real estate, walls, furniture and accessories.
If your home does not have the conditions of an industrial style, do not worry, since you can easily paint the walls gray, accentuating details of clarity or depth with another color.
This idea complements it with gray villages in a different tonality from the walls and at the same time includes industrial elements both in metal and in another color.
Brown in its different expressions
Brown is a very present tone in the industrial style, but as a complement, that is, it is reflected in less quantity.
The reason for this is that this color softens the saturation of the metallic tones and in turn combines perfectly with the reddish hue of the brick.
We can see them present mainly in furniture and decorative objects, but also more widely in the floors, these being made of wood.
Black
As we mentioned before, the industrial color palette is mostly dominated by dark tones, and in them the black tone cannot be absent.
Black is a pure color, a tone that gives depth and character, but being so intense in a style that handles subdued tones, its appearance on the scene is reduced.
This is presented in precise elements, complementing the color palette that will be implemented in the space.
It is details that make the difference, such as an area on the wall, black stairs, one or two pieces of furniture, lamps or integrated into the designs of an accessory.
Beige and white in the industrial style
In the industrial color palette, only two light shades are evident.
These are the only ones that this style allows within its group of subdued tones, to accommodate a more generic and feminist style.
In general, the set of dark colors within the industrial palette depending on how we apply it, is aimed at creating a more masculine environment, however, by placing light colors, it softens the appearance of the space, being perfect for girls or a family.
The light tones in this case have more prominence in the covered area, since the different types of white and beige are generally placed on the walls and furniture.
However, this results in the intense colors of the dark tones coming out more, creating a vintage industrial style.
Dark green and blue
These two shades are optional within this trend, since they are colors that give a more modern and different air to the environment.
Green and dark blue are very outstanding for the depth and intensity of their color, which leads them to appear within the industrial palettes.
With them, you can from painting a complete wall, to placing them as the main tone within the decorations of your room, taking into account that you should not exaggerate in it, since the magic of the industrial style is in knowing how to use the different tones of the palette in a single environment.
Colors are the basis of any decoration, a task that is sometimes complicated by not knowing which tones to use, however, with the case of the industrial style you will no longer have to fight with it, because these are the colors with which you should start.
