Goodbye to Xbox backward compatibility, find out why
One of the things Xbox fans love the most is the backward compatibility that lets you enjoy Xbox or Xbox 360 titles on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
This is a feature that the vast majority of players appreciate, as it takes them through a world of memories. However, this backward compatibility would have come to an end.
A few days ago and on the occasion of its 20th anniversary, Xbox announced the addition of 76 new titles to the catalog of backward compatible games. This was very good news for the most nostalgic, since many of the best games from past generations can now be enjoyed.
However, not all is good news, as it has been known, there will be no more games that are included in this backward compatibility list. And this is due to various factors, mainly technical and legal aspects.
From its official website the company released this information in which it assures that they have reached the "limit" and that for licensing reasons, legal issues and some other techniques the list of backward compatible games will no longer be expanded.
A lot of backwards compatible games
Despite this news, the good news is that during the time that the program was active it managed to accumulate a good number of games. In total there were 685 including the 79 that were added on November 15.
Therefore, although there will be no more, there is a very wide catalog of classic titles that you will be able to enjoy.
The company is thanked for this program and who knows, maybe one day we will see a resurgence of the backward compatibility program. In any case, it only remains to wait for new news.
