Ireland rewards frontline medical service workers with €1,000
Medical personnel who have worked on the front lines during this Coronavirus pandemic will receive 1,000 euros totally tax-free.
A new festive date in the annual calendar will be shown in Dublin. On March 18, all the victims who suffered from the spread of Covid-19 will be remembered, as reported by the Dublin Executive, a coalition between centrists, Christian Democrats and Greens.
The deputy prime minister, Leo Varadkar, assured in a statement that, with this decision, the authorities want to reward the efforts made by residents during the welfare emergency.

Nurses, stretcher bearers, doctors, ambulance workers and cleaners will receive the bonus of 1,000 euros. This is aimed at all health personnel, who are part of the hospital environment.
Military personnel who have carried out relief work in testing and vaccination centers, and workers in private nursing homes, will also benefit from this payment.
Leo Varadkar insisted that frontline health care workers will receive an exceptional, tax-exempt fee of 1,000 euros; in recognition of completing their work in dangerous and troublesome conditions, and for the enormous number of lives they have saved through their efforts.
The Minister for Public Expenditure, Michael McGrath, said that the reward is adequate, although he acknowledged that there is no representative amount of money that can really show the dedication of all the staff who have worked tirelessly for the health of citizens.
