Gal Gadot's film "Death on the Nile" is censored in two countries
The Kuwaiti government made the decision to ban the screening of the film, citing ethical reasons
Gal Gadot is recognized as "Wonder Woman" from DC Comics, or as "Gisele" in the Fast and Furious saga.
However, the actress was also Miss Israel 2004 and was even part of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
For this last reason, countries like Kuwait and Lebanon will not screen Kenneth Branagh's film Death on the Nile.
The Kuwaiti government made the decision to ban the screening of the film, due to the strong protests developed on social networks, alleging ethical reasons, since Gadot would have participated in the occupation of Palestine.
In addition, the actress has always been very open about the conflict between Israel and Palestine, using her social networks to raise her voice.
In May 2021, she was even forced to remove a post for “covering up” the IDF attacks in the Gaza Strip.
Death on the nile
The film is the sequel to Murder on the Orient Express (2017), now the Hercule Poirot must investigate a crime aboard a cruise ship sailing on the Nile River.
Despite the criticism, the film was released yesterday -February 11-, in some countries. It has a great cast made up of Kenneth Branagh, Gal Gadot, Letitia Wright, Armie Hammer, Annette Bening, Ali Fazal, Sophie Okonedo, Tom Bateman and Emma Mackey.
Gadot plans to record the third installment of “Wonder Woman”, as well as the productions “Cleopatra”, “Heart ef. Stone”, “Irena Sendler” and even a new version of “Snow White”.
