Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez got married
This Saturday, renowned actors Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck officiated their marriage in Las Vegas. A source close to them reported that they carried out the nuptials in an "intimate ceremony in Las Vegas".
In the same way, the singer and actress confirmed it in her newsletter on Sunday, where she ended the letter by announcing her new last name : Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
In addition, Jennifer explained that for the wedding she wore a dress from an old movie, while Affleck used a jacket that he had in his closet.
“We read our own vows in the small chapel and gave each other the rings that we will wear for the rest of our lives. In the end, it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined," the actress reported.
He also added that on Saturday night they traveled to Las Vegas, lined up with four other couples to get married and added that:
“We just got to the little white wedding chapel at midnight. They graciously stayed open late for a few minutes, allowing us to take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to appear, that was an extra cost and he was already in bed)."
It should be noted that the two met while filming the comedy "Gigli" in 2001, where the actors played two criminals. JLo and Ben. After that, they established a relationship and a year later, in November 2002 they got engaged.
In September 2003 they postponed their wedding, alleging that the reason was "excessive media attention", however, in January 2004 they officially and definitively canceled their engagement.
Since then, 17 years have passed and both with other marriages and children, but in April of this year, Affleck proposed to JLo and she explains it as follows in her newsletter:
"It took me totally by surprise and I just looked into his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying to understand the fact that after 20 years this was happening again, I was literally speechless and he said, 'is that a yes? ' I said yes, of course it is yes.”
