Double earthquake in Albania leaves 52 injured and material damage
A strong earthquake, on two occasions, ended the tranquility of Albania. At least 52 people were injured, with no fatalities recorded. The earthquakes occurred within 11 minutes of each other.
The earthquakes recorded were of magnitude 5.6 and 5.1 with epicenters in the vicinity of Durrës, on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. Users on social networks shared images of the earthquake, while others began to upload photos of the damage caused. In the videos you can see cars and small structures quite affected.
The inhabitants of the Albanian coast were concerned about this unexpected event, which is not common in the sector. The earthworks affected a large part of the historical buildings in the area and some ended with quite large cracks.
The panic took advantage of the inhabitants who, after regaining their calm due to the first earthquake, ran quickly as a result of a second earthquake occurring.
At the moment the existence of aftershocks is unknown, as any tsunami is ruled out.
