The earthquake occurred 152 kilometers southeast of Sofifi in Indonesia according to the statements of the United States Geological Survey (USGS), in charge of giving exact seismological values worldwide.

The depth of the earthquake was 10 km, which is why it can be considered a powerful event that has generated commotion worldwide. Despite all this, the authorities have already communicated and have expressed that no serious consequences have been evidenced in the face of said earthquake:

The event occurred at 6:10 p.m. local time in Indonesia. After said earthquake, an aftershock of magnitude of 5.8 was witnessed, which caused even more concern among the inhabitants of this country. For this reason, the authorities are alert to any other anomaly that may arise.

Concern of the inhabitants of Indonesia after the earthquake of magnitude 7.3

After the earthquake that occurred today in Indonesia, its inhabitants have been alarmed after said event, reaching alerts and some have even gone to take refuge in special centers and buildings for this type of anomaly.

One of the spokespersons for the Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency has already made a statement, expressing the concern that the inhabitants of Indonesia are currently experiencing:

People have fled to take refuge in places of worship, schools and official buildings.

All this concern is due, perhaps, to a similar event that occurred last year in that country, where there was an earthquake of magnitude 7.5, which produced a tsunami that left more than 2,000 dead and 200,000 displaced.

Despite all this, the Indonesian authorities have already notified that there is no risk of a tsunami and that the earthquake did not cause serious consequences for the nation. Even so, they remain alert to any type of anomaly.
