Draw at the Bernabéu on the last day – News – WebMediums
The game had an 'exhibition' air and ended goalless.

This Friday the match corresponding to matchday 38 of LaLiga was played, where Real Madrid received Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabéu in a match that ended in a goalless draw.

Carlo Ancelotti and Manuel Pellegrini signed a meeting that had more of an 'exhibition' tone than an official match. The LaLiga champions faced the Copa del Rey champions, but before that the singer Alejandro Sanz, who is an honorary member of the merengue club, kicked off.

The meeting began with a domain that alternated for the two squads that the first minutes did not reach the corresponding goals with danger.

But Real Madrid had the first clear at 8' when Benzema received a cross from Mendy from the left, controlled and took a shot that hit Bartra, the rebound was taken by Kross who took a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the area, but he comes out crossed and goes down the last line.

At minute 11, Betis responded with a mid-range shot from Guido that Courtois ended up saving without any problems.

Also at 15', the Sevillian team had another one that began with a cross by Canales from the bottom line on the left and Juanmi wins with a header, but fails to give it direction and goes high.

Once again, Betis disturbed Courtois' goal in the 20th minute. The 'Verdiblancos' recovered the ball at the edge of the area and it fell to Willian José who took a low shot that skimmed the post. Then several minutes passed without clear chances by both teams.

At 42' the visiting team would have another. A center looking to win the back falls to Juanmi, but he can't control well in the one-on-one with the goalkeeper and, in addition, Militao presses well and Courtois manages to get the ball.

But Madrid responded in the 44th minute with a low shot by Casemiro from the edge of the area that ended up grazing the post and going down the last line. With that result they would go to rest. Starting the second half, Ancelotti moved the bench, Kross and Casemiro left, and Camavinga and Valverde entered.

The clearest for the merengue team would come at minute 50. A cross from the right to the penalty spot falls to Benzema who takes a first-class shot, but Rui Silva clears and the rebound falls to Rodrygo, who was unable to hit him well due to the pressure of the defense and the ball was diverted by the last line.

Two minutes later, Benzema tried again with a low shot from the edge of the area that narrowly missed. At minute 57, Guardado tried with a left-footed shot from medium distance that Courtois stopped without problems. At 59', Camavinga received a pass at the edge of the area and took a powerful shot that Rui Silva stopped in two stages.

At minute 70' Ancelotti makes some changes again. Modric, Mendy and Rodrygo leave; and Ceballos, Marcelo and Isco enter. This may have been the last game at the Bernabéu for the three players who entered the field and even for Bale who did not play. The public applauded them as soon as they heard their names when the substitutions were made.

At 73' the engineer Pellegrini also made some changes. He took out Juanmi and Fekir so that Borja Iglesias and Joaquín could enter. At minute 83, Vinicius led an attack that ended up giving it to Benzema and the Frenchman, reaching the small area from the left, took a left footed shot that went over the crossbar.

At 86 'the clearest for Betis occurs. In a formidable counterattack and with numerical superiority in the attack, they take a cross to the left post that Iglesias ends up giving to Joaquín at the penalty spot, but staying high, he takes a shot that goes slightly over the crossbar.

Benzema had the last of the match at 90+3'. Marcelo took a cross from the left sector that falls to the Frenchman and he takes a header from the far post that ends up going wide without any white attacker managing to push it into the back of the net. In this way the game would end with a goalless draw at the Bernabéu.
