Volodimir Zelensky stressed the enormous importance of the stay in Ukraine of diplomats and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, since their presence is a deterrent factor for a large-scale attack.

Through his Twitter account, Zelenski said that the bombing carried out by the separatist forces on the nursery was a "great provocation".

On the other hand, Dmitro Kuleba, Foreign Minister of Ukraine, through the same social network, called on Kiev's allies to speak out immediately on this clear violation of the Minsk agreements by Moscow.

In a huge moment of tension, one of the Russian missiles pierced a wall of a nursery, where it has been confirmed that children and teachers were, luckily, the children did not suffer any damage, since they were in another room.

The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed another attack on the village of Vrubovka, where the shelling damaged a school. At that time there were 30 students and 14 members of the educational institution.

The position of the European Union

Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, said on Thursday that Russia's attack on Ukraine has already begun in some regions of Ukraine's eastern border.

However, he assured that the member countries of the European Union will not impose sanctions against Moscow until the level of aggression increases.

A few days ago news circulated about an alleged withdrawal of Russian troops, but European and Western authorities have assured that there is no evidence that they are really withdrawing.

Borrell held a meeting with the presidents and spokespersons of the European Union to address the conflict with respect to Ukraine, at which meeting they decided not to take any position and not apply sanctions for the time being.

The representative of the European Union assured that there is clear evidence of the increase in attacks and heavy bombardments in some regions of the Ukrainian border, especially in the eastern zone that Borrell visited in mid-January.

In the last few hours, Russia has used disinformation rhetoric to create an environment of aggression against Russians in that region of Ukraine.

On the other hand, the Duma (Russian House of Representatives) voted to ask Putin to recognize the independence of Donetsk and Luganks, regions controlled by the separatists.

Before attending the meeting with the heads of state of the European Union, Borrell was at the NATO headquarters in the morning, where the Alliance's defense ministers reported that Moscow has increased its troops on the border.

The European diplomat, in several speeches, has stated that he is prepared to announce, as quickly as possible to his European counterparts, the punitive measures against Moscow that the European Union has been preparing jointly with the West.

These will be dictated when “the level of intensity of the aggression requires it”, said the Spanish minister. In addition, he assured that, among the sanctions, there are economic and energy measures.
