Germany presents new record of infections

A new record registers Germany, since the Coronavirus pandemic began. In the last 24 hours, 262,752 new positive cases of Covid-19 have been registered, compared to 210,673 a week ago.

At this time the country has a relaxation plan in terms of prevention measures.

In seven days, for every 100,000 inhabitants, 1,388 new cases have been registered, according to updated information from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), for virology.

In the last 24 hours, the number of deaths with or from Covid-19 increased to 259, compared to last Thursday, when the figure was 267.

Among the currently active cases throughout the country, some 3,416,000 people are registered, throughout the country.

In the territory of the country, 76.4% of the inhabitants are already vaccinated ; 75.6% have full doses and 57.7% have only received a booster dose.

Most of the restrictions will be eliminated on March 20, according to the plans maintained by the authorities.

However, certain measures will be maintained, such as distance, hygiene regulations, tests and the use of masks for vulnerable groups and in interior spaces and urban transport.

According to Karl Lauterbach, Minister of Health, and Marco Buschmann, Minister of Justice, in the event of a high increase in infections, or strong pressure from the health system, stronger measures will be taken up and introduced.
